Cytotec

Misoprostol, the chemical name for Cytotec, has been prescribed for a number of conditions related to pregnancy, from the induction of labor to the prevention of postpartum bleeding. It has been used to initiate an abortion, as well as to treat NSAID induced stomach ulcers.

For patients who have been prescribed Cytotec for stomach ulcers, a frequent side effect is diarrhea. Clinical trials found more than 10 percent of such patients reported diarrhea. Other related conditions include nausea, flatulence, dyspepsia, vomiting, constipation and abdominal pain. Cytotec causes uterine hyperstimulation, which can limit the supply of blood to a fetus. Accordingly, pregnant women should not take Cytotec unless they are trying to induce labor or abort a fetus. The drug has been reported to cause birth defects in children when used to induce labor or abortion.

If you or someone you love has suffered injury after using Cytotec, GetLegal has the tools and resources to help you find skilled legal representation to protect your rights. Visit our attorney directory, look for your geographic location and find the best lawyer for your situation.
