Adderall and Ritalin

Adderall and Ritalin are both central nervous system stimulants designed for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Adderall was introduced to the U.S. market in 1996 by Richwood Pharmaceuticals. Ritalin (the trade name for Methylphenidate) has been around much longer, first approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1955.

Adderall has been shown to have a wide range of detrimental side effects, including hypertension and hypotension, as well as tachycardia (an elevated heart rate). Users may have a number of stomach-related maladies, such as loss of appetite, abdominal pain and nausea, and may be more prone to seizures and tics. The drug can also decrease sexual performance and interest.

Ritalin has been shown to cause many similar conditions, as well as dry mouth, insomnia, dizziness, heart palpitations and mental challenges, such as depression or confusion.

If you or someone you love has suffered injury after taking Adderall or Ritalin, GetLegal has the tools and resources to help you find skilled legal representation to protect your rights. Visit our attorney directory, look for your geographic location and find the best lawyer for your situation.
